6 slices of bacon, chopped
3 cups water
1 1/2 cups uncooked rice
1 onion, chopped
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 cup frozen peas (or frozen mixed vegetables)
2 to 3 tablespoons soya sauce
Instructions
Brown bacon pieces in a large frying pan.
Meanwhile, in a saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil. Add 1 1/2 cups of rice. Cover and cook rice until the water is almost gone, about 15 minutes.
When bacon is cooked, add to frying pan the onion and garlic, and frozen vegetables if not using peas. When the onion browned and cooked, add 1 cup frozen peas. Add soya sauce and cooked rice; heat and serve.
Hint: You can use leftover cold rice for this recipe. Just add the rice as stated above and heat thoroughly for 2 to 5 minutes after adding the soya sauce.
