Seven Grain Bread using Bread Machine

Ingredients 


1 2/3 cups water
3 tablespoons powdered milk
2 tablespoon shortening
2 tablespoons honey
2 tsp. salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 1/4 cups white flour
1/2 cup 7 grain cereal
1 1/4 tsp. bread machine yeast or 1 1/2 tsp. regular yeast

Instructions
Measure ingredients in the order listed into baking pan, or according to your machine's instructions. Insert baking pan into oven chamber, twist to secure. Close  lid. Select whole grain setting. Crust setting is pre-selected depending on machine. Press start there will be a 25-minute delay before mixing begins.  Use oven mitts to remove bread when complete,  should hear a completion beep sound.  Cool on wire rack before slicing. Cooking time 4 hours 10 minutes.

Hint:  Seven Grain or 12 grain cereal is available at the Bulk Barn, make sure that it is unsweetened. This is my adapted recipe, I start the bread in the evening and it's ready the next morning. Adapted from the Black and Decker cook book included with the Bread Machine. I use less flour than the original recipe.
