Home-Made Tomato Ketchup

Yield:  5 to 6 sixteen-ounce jars.

Ingredients
24 ripe tomatoes
6 onions, chopped
2 red sweet peppers, chopped
1 cup chopped celery
1 tsp. allspice
2 tablespoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup vinegar

Instructions
Mix tomatoes, chopped onions, chopped red pepper, chopped celery, allspice and salt together and simmer until soft.  Add brown sugar and vinegar; bring to a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.  Seal hot in sterilized bottles.

This ketchup tastes great with meat pie.

Note:  If desired, you can put this ketchup through a sieve or remove the skins from the tomatoes.
