Mushroom Turnovers

Ingredients
Pastry:
8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup flour

Filling:
3 tablespoons butter

1 large onion, chopped
1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, finely chopped
2 tablespoons flour
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 cup sour cream

1 egg, beaten for topping

Instructions
Pastry: Soften cheese to room temperature, then beat cream cheese and butter well. Mix in flour. Shape into a ball. Chill 1 hour. Meanwhile cook filling.

Filling: Sauté onion and mushrooms in butter until tender. Stir in flour and spices. Add sour cream and still until thickened. Cool.

Roll pastry thinly. Cut 3 inch round. Place 1 tsp. of filling in each center. Dampen outer half edge with beaten egg. Fold over and press edges together with fork. Before cooking, brush turnovers with beaten egg. Bake at 425F for 10 minutes.

Hint: Can be frozen before cooking, cook when needed. If frozen, bake at 350F for 20 to 30 min.
