2 cups of flour
2/3 cup cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
Combine first 5 ingredients in a small bowl; stir well to blend.
In a large bowl beat butter, sugar and eggs at high speed about 3 minutes or until light and fluffy.
Add flour mixture alternately with milk and vanilla at low speed, starting and ending with flour; scrape bowl frequently.
Bake in 2 greased floured 9- inch round cake pans in a preheated 350 F oven for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes; remove from pans and cool completely.
Fill and frost with favorite chocolate icing. You can use your favorite jam for the filling between the cakes. Frost with Chocolate Butter Frosting recipe.
