Tante Shirley's Corn Squares

Ingredients
Base:
½ cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
¼ cup corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
3 cups corn flakes
½ cup crisp rice cereal

Frosting:
½ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons milk
1 cup icing sugar

Topping:
1 semi-sweet chocolate square

Instructions
Base: In a saucepan brown sugar, butter and corn syrup. Boil for one minute.  Add and mix the peanut butter, corn flakes and crisp rice cereal. When mixed pour in a greased 9 square pan.  Make frosting.
Frosting: Boil the sugar, milk and butter for 2 minutes in a small saucepan.  Cool for 2 minutes.  Add the icing sugar and beat the frosting until soft.  Spread over the square.
Topping:  Melt chocolate and drizzle over frosting.

Cool completely and cut into squares.  Freezes well


Add facial expressions and sound effects when reading a bedtime story.
