Shirley
Ingredients
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup warm milk
1 tsp salt
1 tablespoon shortening, margarine or butter
1 tablespoon molasses
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 cup bran
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp yeast
Instructions
Place ingredients except the bran, flour and yeast in bread machine container. Add the bran and stir. Add flour on top of wet ingredients and yeast on top of flour.
Start bread machine on Dough setting. Usually this will take two hours to complete the cycle.
Remove dough from bread machine and place on floured bread board. Punch down dough and shape into two loaves.
Place dough in grease loaf pan cover and let rise again until doubled, about 1 hour.
Bake in preheated 350° F oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until loaves sound hollow when tapped on top.

Note from Agnes: this bread machine didn't do a good job with the bread dough. Made one loaf with all the dough and baked longer. The bread is delicious.
