Menus

A great meal involves alot of preparation.  Having a menu ahead of time and shopping for all the ingredients before you start will make the meal more enjoyable.  I wrote my Family's Thanksgiving menu with other suggestions and hints.

Thanksgiving Dinner Menu

Appetizer
Vegetables and dip

Main meal
Roasted Turkey
Stuffing
Boiled new potatoes
Gravy
Steamed carrots and broccoli
Spiced Cranberry sauce

Notes and hints
Make a shopping list a week before
Buy frozen pre stuffed turkey, they are less fuss. Note the baking time for frozen pre stuffed turkeys, they take longer to bake.
Make desserts and Cranberry sauce at least a day ahead.
Decide on potatoes and make ahead if short on time on turkey day or baking potatoes in oven.
Decide on vegetables ahead of time and get them ready the morning of or day before is choosing oven baked vegetables.

Other main meal suggestions for Thanksgiving 
Make a flattened Turkey, it will save time in oven.
Make your own Stuffing, Nanny's Bread Crumb Dressing is a great recipe.
Add Swedish Meatballs to meal.
Add or serve ham instead. A few ideas: One inch thick sweet and sour ham slices baked in oven or Baked Ham with Basing Sauce or Ham with Ham Glaze
There are so nany choices for potatoes, i.e. mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes goes well with Ham, oven roasted potatoes, roasted brussells sprouts and little potatoes or Whipped Potatoes
Make Gravy or Brown Sauce from turkey dripping juice
Pick any vegetables , I.e. canned vegetables, steamed frozen vegetables, fresh mixed vegetables, glazed carrots or squashes
Add a salad such as lettuce, tomatoes, onions and a mixture of other vegetables served with dressing
Make fresh buns or dinner rolls a day ahead
Make cranberry sauce from fresh or frozen cranberries or buy canned cranberry sauce
