Coconut Bars


Instructions

½ cup shortening , margarine or butter
1 ½ cups brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
½ cup nuts
1 ½ cups shredded coconut

Ingredients
Melt shortening, margarine or butter in saucepan; add brown sugar mixing well. Remove from heat. Add eggs and vanilla. Beat well.
Measure flour, salt, baking powder in a small bowl and stir.  Add flour mixture to saucepan.
Add nuts and coconut; mix well. Place in a 9x9" baking pan and cook at 350 F for 30 to 35 minutes.
