Ingredients1 ½ cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
½ cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1 14-oz can undrained fruit cocktail
Cake Topping:
¾ cup sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup cream or Carnation milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Instructions
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into a greased 9X13 inch pan. Bake 350 F 30-40 min.
While the cake is baking, make the topping.
Cake Topping: Combine in a small saucepan the sugar, butter and cream or Carnation milk.
Bring to a boil and simmer for one minute. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Pour hot topping over cake when you take the cake from the oven. The sweet sauce soaks into the cake.
