Ray's Date Nut Bread

Serves 10 
Recipe is modified from an old friend's recipe. Delicious bread with walnuts.

Ray's Date Nut Bread


Ingredients
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped dates
1 cup chopped walnuts
4 tablespoon soft butter
1 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup wheat flour
3/4 cup unbleached flour
1 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350F Grease 9"x 5" loaf pan.
Mix dry ingredients in large bowl and make well in center. Add liquids and egg to dry mixtures. Mix until all ingredients are moistened.
Spoon bather into pan.
Bake for 55 minutes to an 1 hour at 350  Bake until toothpick in center comes out clear.

Notes: Easy enough. My friend's recipe has coffee instead of milk, plus 1 tbsp of brandy.
