Easy recipe that has no meat and cooked in instant pot but you can cook them in oven or crockpot... just longer. I enjoy these as a meal, side dish or with eggs for breakfast.
Serves 12.

8 cups of Navy beans soaked overnight
1 large onion finely chopped
2 tsp salt
1 tsp turmeric (optional for colour)
6 tbsp of cider vinegar
2 tsp of brown sugar
1 tsp of powdered mustard
1/2 cup of molasses
2 tbsp of tomato paste
Black pepper
2 tbsp of olive oil
Soak beans overnight with 2 inches of water covering. Rinse well.
Put in instant pot. Add ingredients in order listed. Give a quick stir.
Add water to cover. (not too much)
Cooking in instant pot 75 min on stew. 70 minute rest. Steam release if needed.
Alternate Cooking in oven. Add about 1 inch over the beans. 6 to 8 hours.
I make this and freeze in meal portions and use as side dishes.
