Makes 11 dozen small cookies For larger cookies the baking time is longer. Marilyne Best Ever Cookies Ingredients 1 cup butter 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup brown sugar, packed 1 egg 1 cup vegetable oil 1 tsp vanilla 3 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 cup corn flakes, lightly crushed to less than 1/2" pieces 1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup shredded coconut 1/2 cup chopped pecans Instructions Preheat oven to 350F. In large mixer bowl cream butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar. Add egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well. In medium bowl add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir to combine. Add flour mixture to creamed mixture and mix well. In another medium bowl add corn flakes and lightly crush. Add oats, coconut and pecans to corn flakes and gently stir. Add to creamed mixture and stir until blended. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated 350 F oven for 8 to 9 minutes. Remove from pan after a couple of ...

Bran Bread

Makes two loaves Very good bread with soups. Shirley Bran Bread with jam Ingredients 1/2 cup warm water 1/2 cup warm milk 1 tsp salt 1 tablespoon shortening, margarine or butter 1 tablespoon molasses 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 cup bran 2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp yeast Instructions Place ingredients except the bran, flour and yeast in bread machine container. Add the bran and stir. Add flour on top of wet ingredients and yeast on top of flour. Start bread machine on Dough setting. Usually this will take two hours to complete the cycle. Remove dough from bread machine and place on floured bread board. Punch down dough and shape into two loaves. Place dough in grease loaf pan cover and let rise again until doubled, about 1 hour. Bake in preheated 350° F oven for 25 to 35 minutes or until loaves sound hollow when tapped on top. 100% Whole Wheat Bread

Makes one or two loaves Whole wheat bread takes longer to rise than white flour bread. Marilyne Whole Wheat Bread Ingredients 1 1/2 cups lukewarm water 1 1/2 tsp salt 2 tablespoons powdered milk 2 tablespoons honey 2 tablespoons molasses 2 tablespoons butter or margarine 3 3/4 cups whole wheat flour 1 3/4 tsp bread machine yeast Instructions Measure and add ingredients in bread machine in order listed. If possible use the Whole Grain setting on your bread machine, if not consider making dough. Two loaves dough method: Add ingredients in the bread machine and put the machine on Dough setting. Approximately 2 hours later remove the dough and shape into round loaves. Place the loaves in two oiled pie plates and cover dough to keep warm. Let rise until double, approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Bake in preheated oven at 375° for 25 minutes or until done. Remove from oven and rub butter or margarine on crust to keep soft. Note: whole wheat bread...
